The members of Andante Strings enjoy performing professionally in a variety of musical settings: weddings, special events, symphony orchestras, theatre productions, and benefit concerts to name a few. It is our joy and honor to enhance your event with our music.

Christa Berezowskyj (violin)

A lifelong enthusiastic music-maker, Christa received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania and her Performer's Certificate from the University of Connecticut. Besides Andante Strings, Christa performs as a principal violinist with Harmonia, the new string ensemble of the GMChorale in Middletown, Connecticut. In addition to performing, Christa teaches strings at Mansfield Elementary School (CT). A lifelong Connecticut resident, she lives in Tolland with her husband, daughter, and dog.

Selah Kwak (violin)

Selah enjoys performing with others in many settings, with the quartet being among her favorites. She began playing violin at age 7 and soon after started studying at the Hartt School Community Division. She received her BA from Gettysburg College, where she double majored in Psychology and Music and a MM in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy at the University of Hartford. She is currently working towards her Graduate Professional Diploma at the University of Hartford. In her free time, Selah enjoys hiking, traveling, and being around her pets (one dog, three ducks, 12 chickens).

Dana Saccomano (violin & viola)

Dana began her instrumental music studies on the violin at age 9. She later added viola into her repertoire. She teaches elementary strings in East Hartford, CT, and was previously the high school Orchestra Director at Norwalk High School in Norwalk, CT. She holds an MM in Violin Performance, BS in Music Education, and BA in Music from the University of Connecticut. Dana enjoys performing on both instruments with various orchestras in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She lives in Vernon, CT with her family.

Shannon Carlson (cello)

A third-generation musician, Shannon began her musical studies at age 5 on violin before transitioning to cello at age 7. Though she is primarily a middle school math teacher, making music with others is what brings her the most joy. Since moving to CT from NY in 2006, she has been fortunate to meet and play with wonderful musicians in symphonic, pit, and rock band orchestras and various small ensemble settings. She holds degrees from Vassar College, the University of Hartford, and Central Connecticut State University. Shannon lives in South Windsor, CT with her husband and children.
